| 櫻井 敦司 | In the beginning, when Atsushi was a young boy, he caused a lot of trouble for the people around him. He didn't take too well to authoritative figures, like his parents or other adults, and he often was finding some way to make life harder for everyone else. One of his most memorable traits was that he had a hatred for animals. He would kill small tree frogs, step on the tails of neighborhood cats and dogs, and played a number of odd pranks on the family pet.
As a young adolescent, his record of bad behavior didn't change, much. He only took to making more extreme attempts at ruining people's days and getting under their skin. Even though he was allowed to go on, that way, for so many years, karma had a way of revealing itself, and returning such favors, full throttle. His parents finally had enough of his character faults, and sent him to a juvenile delinquint facility. While there, Atsushi was abused and reprimanded daily - if not by the instructors, then by other young boys who had ended up in the institute with him. By the time he was released, the instigating young man had changed, and his parents couldn't have been prouder. He grew up, from then on, taking his part in the community, and even making it his goal to carry on a higher role for himself in society. Though, with society's recognition of hybrids and their apparent "use" to the economy, he never really got over his hatred of animals.
When Atsushi finished high school, he took military classes and trained to become a law enforcement officer. However, he was offered a position with the government to become a field agent, and decided to take that route, instead, as it ensured a better pay off. One of his main interests, though, was the position he was asked about - investigating the leakage which caused the hybrid mutations. While he was out, conducting the investigation with a team, he ended up becoming contaminated by the chemical and, months later, began developing feline traits.
Soon, after the government found out about his mutations, and began pursuing him about his experience on the investigation. The representatives sent to him promised him he would be given a cure to his unfortunate mutations. At first, he was cooperative, but only when he was under the impression that he would be given an antidote. However, after revealing what happened, Atsushi was taken to a lab facility, where he was nearly killed and used for experimental testing. However, before doctors could strap him down and execute him, Atsushi managed to escape. It was unfortunate that he'd lost his humanity, however, because his private records were swept from existence to silence any questions of his whereabouts, Atsushi was able to become a ghost, and disappear.
Now, he is on the run as an escaped fugitive, with little to no evidence as to what he looks like, and where he could likely be found. He has been looking, inconspicuously, for a cure to his condition while keeping a low profile so he won't be captured.
